Artist Statement

Word Cytology: The ideas for my paintings come from my interest in looking at words and cells as tools, structural units, and as expressive dynamo. I use the classical Greek language and combine it with a study on human cells. The classical Greek language can be seen as a building block from which many other languages are built from; including the language of the west English. In the same way, cells are also structural units; they are building blocks; the central units of all life.

What are they?

What are building blocks? A series of rectangular shapes that fit together and assemble sometimes in to structures or just a mass of shapes. We can line up the blocks side by side, one on top of the other. .large blocks with small blocks. .

Large ones and small ones can make interesting structures. .how does a large brick fit with a small brick? You would need to have many small ones to support the large one.
